SeeLane is a powerful system for a stand-alone LPR system or a building-block for a larger access-control
or traffic-lane application.
For example, as seen below, the system can serve as an
access-control system and control the entrance and exit gate, store history of the gate events,
store images of the vehicle and driver, and display welcome messages.


The following illustration shows a typical configuration of a SeeLane
LPR system (for example, for 2-lanes-in and 2-lanes-out access control
system).
The SeeLane application runs as a background Windows application in the
PC (shown in the center), and interfaces to a set of SeeCarHead
camera/illumination units (one for each vehicle) which are interfaced by the
frame grabber. The application controls the sensors and controls via an I/O
card that is connected thru a terminal block to the inputs and outputs.
The application can send results through serial RS232
communication, and reports the information via inter-application DDE
messages to Client application(s). It writes the information to local
database or to optional remote databases (via the network).

SeeLane runs as a background application with
a window. It can run as a stand-alone application, but better: it can
share the recognition results with another application (the 'client'
process). To process the recognition results
simply intercept DDE messages that are sent by SeeLane. Each vehicle will
generate one message containing the recognition result. SeeLane handles
everything for you.

The integration is simple! We provide client sources
for VC++ or VB and sample applications. We also supply a simulation of the
application for simplified integration (see below).


SeeLane example is shown below, captured at the entrance to the office featured in the top
of this page. In this example the SeeLane captures the images of vehicles that were captured at the gate.

Each car is displayed by the application and recognized by
the SeeCar DLL . Then the license plate number is displayed on the bottom
display (both in tabular history list on the bottom-left, and a graphical
display on the bottom-right). If the license plate is found in the
database, the name of the owner is displayed as well. This is also sent
via serial communication and displayed on an optional outdoor display.
The application also sends the recognition result DDE messages to a client
process that logs the data into a database. (This is not shown in the
animated example). This interface method simplifies the integration of the
application into any PC-based application.
The above example is also available in executable form as a fully
simulated application, and very useful for early integration of the
messages or communication into your local application. The simulated
application is identical to the real application - but without the
