HTS to show VIR suite at Intertraffic

Hi-Tech Solutions (HTS) will show its VIR (Vehicle Identity Recognition) suite at Intertraffic Amsterdam (March 27-30).

VIR recognizes vehicle make and model, plate colors, country or state names and special icons on the plate itself.

The recognition capabilities enhance and improve verification and classification of the vehicle and help check correlation between the car type, license plate number, and data stored on police and homeland security databases, allowing for immediate alerts. The suite also increases the efficiency of parking and toll road operators, who can bill for usage more effectively.

"Even though today’s LPR systems can almost perfectly identify a car’s license plate as genuine and original, they cannot indicate any discrepancy between the license plate and the car the plate is on. Therefore, vehicles equipped with stolen license plates would not cause any alert and would pass freely,” says Meta Rotenberg, VP business development, HTS.

HTS’s proprietary vision-based LPR devices read and identify plate numbers and letters, and record the information in real time for further processing according to the customer’s needs and specifications. The LPR system comprises software and hardware, configured to the site specifications.
